ABOUT MERRELL

Long before Merrell began writing professionally, her love for penning and pondering the complexities of the human condition was established early.       Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, to a pastor’s home, along with an identical twin and a slightly older sister, she experienced the best and worst of civilization vicariously through the lives and testimonies of people forgiven, but not perfect.  (Some experiences weren’t quiet so vicarious!)

Surrounded by a large, extended family, with its own fair share of oddballs, Merrell enjoyed a wide variety of samples on the buffet table of personalities.  (There lingers still an aftertaste…)

Merrell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida in 1992, and began freelance writing.  Her works have appeared in newspapers, magazines and periodicals.  She also moonlighted as a photographer for advertising publications.  Merrell published the novel, Tie A Yellow Ribbon in 2002.
